Triple-I Appoints Patrick Schmid Chief 杏吧原创 Officer; Will Also Lead Catastrophe Resiliency Council and 杏吧原创 Research Council

MALVERN, Pa., July 2, 2025 鈥 The (Triple-I), an affiliate of , announced today Patrick Schmid has been appointed chief insurance officer at Triple-I, effective July 11, 2025.

In addition, Schmid will lead the organization鈥檚 and the , reporting to Triple-I CEO Sean Kevelighan. Schmid will also continue in his role as president of , reporting to Pete Miller, president and CEO at The Institutes. He is replacing Dale Porfilio as Triple-I鈥檚 chief insurance officer and president of IRC.

鈥淎fter four years of dedicated service, Dale has decided to pursue new opportunities. We are grateful for his leadership and the impact he has made across our organization and industry. He helped shape critical initiatives and strengthen the value we provide our members,鈥 Kevelighan said.

Schmid holds a master鈥檚 degree and Ph.D. in economics from Temple University. He has taught economics and finance at several Philadelphia-area colleges and universities including Albright College, Drexel University, Saint Joseph鈥檚 University, Temple University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

During his 17-year tenure at The Institutes, his roles have included vice president, RiskStream Collaborative; assistant vice president, enterprise research; and director of research at IRC. Prior to working in the insurance industry, Schmid was an economist for Moody's Analytics.
